My kitchen counter is crowded with piles of Trader Joe's Wasabi Roasted Seaweed Snack packages. They're only 99 cents each, pack an eye-watering wallop, and eating them imparts a (perhaps misguided) pride that I chose aquatic plant life over chips. I deem them far superior to Annie Chun's more expensive, less fiery version. Nori has always been my least favorite component of maki rolls, so this newfound obsession puzzles me.
P.S. Speaking of sushi, a heads up to NYC-dwelling vegetarians: we had dinner at Neta last night, where half of their a la carte menu of rolls was indeed suitable for us, a fact the recent NY Times review tipped us off to.

This is intriguing! I'm not usually a huge nori fan either but I have been obsessed with everything wasabi lately (namely the whole foods wasabi peas) so I may have to give this a go. If I can ever convince myself to brave the Union Square Trader Joe's that is...
