Swinging in Central Park

It had been a long time since I'd set foot in Central Park (last March), and even longer since I'd enjoyed a swing set (2006, to be exact). The former is pretty fabulous once you get past the tourists and hotdog carts and tacky souvenir stands. The latter is also wonderful - exhilarating, even - after you stop thinking about how many hundreds of dirty hands have also gripped those chains. (Did you know I'm a germaphobe?)
I'll be singing a different tune in January, but right now I love the chill that has settled in New York this past week. It means morning runs free of sweat, hot alcoholic beverages, and pulling my winter jacket (similar here) out of storage.

I loved Central Park when we were there last February. I want to go back...

And swinging! Aren't childhood activities so fun to revisit as an adult? I can't remember the last time I was on a swing myself.

Cute coat! ;)

You're never too old for a good swing; it's my favorite thing about taking my boys to the playground.

I just got into running this past fall so I've never experienced the unique sensations of winter running. It's pretty exhilarating. I love it!
